Bambi Drop Location |

The most efficient way of farming Blaze Shards is to find and fight Bandits and Fat Bandits. Hordes of them appear in Agrabah, especially in the Cave of Wonders. While a 4% and 8% drop rate may seem low, you’ll be defeating so many of these ne’er-do-wells that you’ll be swimming in Gems in no time.
The best route to take when farming for Blaze Gems is as follows:
Start from the Agrabah: Storage save point, then leave and head out to the Desert. Clear out the area before entering the Cave of Wonders, then fight your way through the Hall, the Bottomless Hall, the Treasure Room, and finally the Lamp Chamber. This clearing-out of the cave has you fight 10+ Large Bandits and 17+ Bandits—you’ll get your Blaze Gems in no time!
White Mushrooms also drop Blaze Gems, but you have to play by their rules, and it takes longer per attempt and, due to the rarity and nature of White Mushrooms, you’ll have a much lower percentage of actually obtaining a Gem.
Finally, summoning Bambi in Traverse Town has a chance to reward you with a Blaze Gem, provided you fulfill the fawn’s requirements.
But let’s take a closer look at all of these methods and monsters involved:
Bandits
Bandits are nimble little robbers that always appear in groups of three or four.
Stop magic works wonders against these guys and helps a lot if you’re lower level or just starting the farm. Otherwise, they’re a problem that your Keyblade can easily fix (and Donald’s Thunder magic can empty the room pretty quick too).
Due to their sheer number, the odds are good that you’ll be getting a good amount of Blaze Gems from them, despite the lower drop rate.
Fat Bandits
Fat Bandits are exactly that: bigger bandits.
These chunksters share all the same qualities as their heartless cousins, the Large Bodies.
You won’t be able to attack them head-on—they love deflecting all attacks that way. Instead, you’ll need to get them from behind. Typically, this can be done by simply moving behind them, though in the heat of battle that can sometimes be easier said than done.
The hitbox determining exactly what is and isn’t ‘behind’ can be a little janky and definitely requires some getting used to. Of course, if you’re at the point where you’re farming for Blaze Gems then the odds are good that you’ve already become accustomed.
If you can’t be bothered to backstab these bandits, then magic also works wonders!
Thunder in particular is perfect and can deal damage to these guys no matter which direction they’re facing.
White Mushrooms
White Mushrooms are the enigmatic loners of the Heartless squad, choosing not to actively attack Sora, but instead play a game of charades with the chance of rewards.
Whenever you come across a room of White Mushrooms, they’ll simply wander about and cycle through various animations, each one requiring a specific spell in response. Give them the same spell three times in a row and you’ll get a reward!
You can probably see where this is going.
Wait until the Mushroom starts to shiver and then warm it up with a fire spell.
Do this three times in a row (you’ll have to wait for it to shiver three times, which might take a while as they like to go through a few other animations first) and you have a 40% chance of getting a Blaze Gem.
If you only get a shiver/fire combo as the last of your three casts, you only have a 10% chance of a Blaze Gem, so make sure it’s three for three with the flame!
Because waiting for the right animation can be so time-consuming, White Mushrooms aren’t really the best choice for Blaze Gems. Other treasures, sure, but your BGs can be found so much more easily in other places.
They sure are cute, though!
Bambi (Traverse Town)
Bambi is a summon in Kingdom Hearts, obtained via the Naturespark item. Naturespark is obtained from The Hundred Acre Wood, after getting a high enough score in Pooh’s Honey Tree minigame.
Once you can summon Bambi, you can start using him to earn items—if you’ve got the skills.
When Bambi is called out, he starts prancing around, dropping HP and MP Orbs.
This is helpful, but what’s more important is his Charge meter.
Defeating Heartless while Bambi is bounding around fills his meter and if you can fill it three times over before his summon time ends, he’ll leave you with a higher-quality prize. What this prize is depends on the area you’re in when you summon him.
Traverse Town is the place to be to try for Blaze Gems from Bambi. Head to an area dense with Heartless, such as the First District or the Hotel Hallway, and just go to town.
While this is a way to get Blaze Gems, it is the slowest and least reliable.
Filling Bambi’s Charge Bar three times requires a fair amount of Heartless, so you’ll need to know exactly when and where they spawn and be powerful enough to dispatch them in a good enough time.
Further, even if you do get three full bars, it’s not 100% that you’ll get a Blaze Gem. These are reasons enough to really make Bambi your last resort when it comes to farming.
What Blaze Gems Can Make
In total you’ll need 10 Blaze Gems to make one of everything that requires them in the Synthesis Shop. This is part of the requirement for unlocking the Ultima Weapon too.
That said, you’ll probably want a few more than the base amount to make additional Mega-Potions and perhaps a few AP Ups (if you’re feeling spicy).
Here is a list of everything that requires Blaze Gems. Enjoy and happy hunting!
