Power Stones
Dropped By
  • Sniperwilds (35%-100%)
Best Farming Spot
  • Traverse Town – Second District

The only way to get Power Stones in KHFM is to find, and defeat, the Sniperwild Heartless. These are the pink slingshot simians that appear in Traverse Town’s Second District.

Keep entering and exiting the area until they spawn–they’ll be the only Heartless around, so you’ll know when you got them.

The chance of earning a power stone depends on how many Sniperwilds you can defeat.

They come in waves, following the pattern of 1/2/3. One will spawn, then two, then three.

This continues until either you defeat 30 of them, or get detected.

There’s a chance of a Power Stone drop every 6 Sniperwilds defeated. If you can get 30 of them, you’ll get 2 stones at a 100% drop. Good luck!

But for that to happen you have to defeat the Sniperwilds without being seen by them. This makes farming Power Stones one of the trickiest, and potentially most frustrating, activities in the game.

Sniperwilds

Stopped Sniperwilds

When you enter the Second District with Sniperwilds, they’ll simply be patrolling the area.

They pause every now and then to not-creepily-at-all peer around with their spotlight eyes.

If Sora gets detected, the alarm will be sounded and the whole area will become flooded with Sniperwilds.

If (when) this happens, you’ll have to take the L and either exit the zone or get a game over. They will shoot you endlessly with their slingshots and there’s no way to defeat them.

So: you have to be stealthy.

There are a few ways to go around this.

Tips for Handling Sniperwilds

If you have a strong enough Magic, you can blast them with a Firaga spell. Hitting them with a fire spell causes them to rush you real quick before triggering the alarm, giving you a brief window in which to KO with your Keyblade.

Stop magic also works great, though be warned:

If you don’t deal enough damage to defeat them while Stopped, they will trigger the alarm immediately when they come back. This is the least dependable option.

Summoning either Mushu or Dumbo can work, too.

  • Mushu has a long-range fire breath and if your magic is powerful enough, you can snipe the Sniperwilds.
  • And Sora is invincible when riding Dumbo, so as long as your summon power is up to snuff, you can just spray away.

The biggest bit of advice though is just find what works for you.

There are a lot of ways to defeat the Sniperwilds, but it all comes down to your playstyle, and ultimately, lots of practice.

Farming Power Stones is one of the more frustrating activities in the game. Take a deep breath and remember: you got this.

Thankfully, you only need 5 Power Stones to make one of everything that requires them. It is a blessing!

And all these items are really great.

The EXP Bracelet is self-explanatory, the Titan Chain has a wonderful STR boost, and the Fantasia is arguably Donald’s best weapon.
