The One-Winged Angel is obtained by defeating Sephiroth in the Platinum Cup at Olympus.
This cup is unlocked after clearing all other cups. Sephiroth is one of two superbosses and requires a lot of preparation and practice to defeat, so stock up on Elixirs and high-defense accessories.
You’ll notice that One-Winged Angel’s attack power is nothing special and it has a stupidly low critical hit rate. However, it makes up for all that by having an equally stupidly high critical hit bonus. It’s the highest bonus in the game, and can deal huge damage.
Also, it has a very high recoil, which is unusual for long keyblades, so you can guard counter as much as you’d like.
Is One-Winged Angel Worth Using?
The ridiculously high critical damage bonus makes a great argument for yes, but the negative MP and overall low attack makes an equally compelling one for no.
It’s fun to use and one of those ‘up to you’ kind of fun things.
Just don’t keep it where it belongs–in your memories.
