The Onyx Shield is purchasable from the Traverse Town item shop for 2800 Munny. It becomes available after rescuing Kairi from Hollow Bastion.
This is another attack-focused shield, and for that purpose it does okay.
It has a decent punch to it and still offers a good baseline defense.
Is the Onyx Shield Worth Using?
Honestly? No.
I know I kind of gave it a glowing review above, but in reality it’s super easy to pass this thing by.
At the same time it’s available, you can easily get through the Hercules Cup at Olympus for the Herc’s Shield or even go and farm Defenders for their superior dropped shield.
It may be a cheaper option when compared to its item-shop subordinates, but mediocrity is mediocrity – and I don’t want you to have to settle for it.
