The Dream Rod is obtained by speaking to Merlin after you learn the third level of all seven magic types. Fulfilling this requirement means having full access to the final dungeon, so you won’t be able to get the Rod until the end of the game.
Stat-wise, the Dream Rod is a less effective Wizard’s Relic. It has middling strength, but decent magic boost and good MP enhancement.
Is the Dream Rod Worth Using?
No, not really.
You have to wait a long time to get it and there’s a lot of hoops in order to do so. And for what? An okay weapon. It’s more of a mark of mastery than anything else, proof that you’ve gone above and beyond in your exploration and collection.
