The Magus Staff is available to purchase from the Traverse Town item shop for 1200 Munny. It becomes available after locking the keyhole in Agrabah.
This is likely the first weapon for Donald you’ll find that boosts his MP. Before this, his weaponry focused on his bonking ability with physical attacks, so this is a nice change of pace.
Is the Magus Staff Worth Using?
Yeah – if you can afford it.
That caveat appears a lot when discussing Donald’s item shop equipment, but it’s always applicable. 1200 Munny might be a lot after Agrabah, especially if you’re browsing right when it becomes available.
Donald does OK with any weapon for the first half of the game, so don’t feel too pressured to get this one.
Still, it’s an extra MP for the Duck Mage (real job) and it comes around the time when he starts coming into his own.
