Sora in Anti-Form

Unlike other Drive Forms, Anti-Form serves as a penalty for transforming into Forms for an excessive amount of times. Though it can only be activated if you’re in combat.

It is obtained alongside Valor Form, which is obtained from the 3 Good Fairies in the Mysterious Tower during your 1st visit to Twilight Town.

In this Form, Sora doesn’t use his Keyblade. Instead he uses his claws to attack enemies. This massively increases his attack and movement speed, but as a result, he deals less damage.

This Form also turns Sora’s attack attribute from physical into a mix of both Neutral and Dark elements, which makes Sora’s attacks more effective against enemies that resist physical attack.

Sora also has an ability called Anti Glide, which, when executed, will make Sora dash forward or hone into an enemy that he’s facing.

Anti-Form Downsides

Since this form is a penalty for the player, it has plenty of downsides.

  • No ability to guard any attacks
  • The Form consumes all of your Drive Gauge
  • It’s not possible to revert out of Anti-Form unless you’re out of combat or until the Form Drive runs out
  • Sora is locked out from using any magic or items
  • Sora cannot pick up any HP orbs dropped
  • Sora takes 50% more damage in this Form
  • Sora gains no EXP while in this form
  • Both of your party members are gone while in this form

Overall it’s definitely the worst Drive Form in the game. But it comes with the territory of using certain forms, with the only exception being Final Form.

How Anti-Form Works

Anti-Form’s activation is determined by a chance rate that depends on a counter that’s not visible on screen.

The higher the counter is, the higher the chance of going into Anti-Form when you try to go into a Drive Form like Valor, Wisdom, Limit, or Master.

Counter (Cannot Go Below 0) Chance of Anti-Form
0-4 0%
5-9 10%
10+ 25%

The counter increases whenever Sora transforms into a Drive Form.

However, there are also other factors that influence the counter, and to an extent, the chance rate itself. These are detailed below:

Influences Counter Change
Transforming into Valor, Wisdom, Master or Limit Form +1
Transforming into a Drive Form when a Party Member is not present/unconscious +0
Gaining a new Form (except Final Form) Resets counter to 0
Activating Anti-Form -5
Transforming into Final Form -10
Red Command Menu outline (happens during story event combats and most boss fights) x2
Pete, Hydra, Barbossa, Hades boss fights x0
Organization XIII boss fights x5
First armored Xemnas fight x10

Note: The counter can still accumulate during situations where the chance rate is influenced by a x0 multiplier.

The safest way to get around Anti-Form is to transform into Final Form after you’ve used other forms many times in a row.

But if you equip the Two Become One Keyblade, the counter will be ignored and Sora will transform into Anti-Form anytime he tries to transform into a Drive Form in combat.
