Best Farming Spot | Twilight Town – Mansion: Library |
The only two Nobodies in KH2 that drop Dense Shards are Dragoons and Creepers. Of those two, Dragoons are the better choice to farm, both because they’re easier to find and have a higher drop rate.
The best place to farm Dragoons is in the Mansion Library in Twilight Town. Enter the world from the Computer Room save point and head straight ahead into the Library.
Once there, you fight three Dragoons. After beating them, it’s an easy return to the save point to reset everything.
You can also head to the final dungeon to find and fight Creepers, but those are low in stock and annoying to find and repeatedly farm.
Of course, it’s easy to say ‘defeat them’ when it comes to farming, so let’s go a little deeper in how to tactically fight these Nobodies.
Dragoons
Dragoons are among the tougher Nobodies.
Traditionally, Dragoons are all about using jump attacks to deal damage and these iterations aren’t going to deviate from that.
Of course, they swing their spear around, but the bread and butter of a Dragoon’s arsenal is the Jump. When they vanish, get ready for a hard-hitting landing. Their jump can be tricky to dodge, especially when you’re working on dealing with other small fry nearby.
The Dragoon’s Reaction Command is ‘Learn’.
This lets Sora use the iconic Jump command one time. Doing this automatically targets the closest enemy.
Landing on an enemy using Jump also causes a small AOE and the tip of the jump does a ton of damage to the target.
The Dragoon should be your focus at all times.
They’re a fairly dangerous foe.
Use of Reflect and Magnet help a lot, though nothing can really top the effectiveness of good ol’ physical attacks. And try to catch that Reaction Command whenever you can!
Creeper
Every group has its weakest link and in the Nobodies, the Creeper is just that.
They don’t have a lot of HP, don’t move very quickly, can’t attack very much–you get the idea.
The only thing they have going for them is their numbers. They rarely appear alone, but also…it doesn’t matter.
You can easily dispatch a Creeper with just your keyblade.
That’s all there really is to say about them.
You can primarily find them in the final dungeon, usually hanging around cooler Nobodies than they’ll ever be.
If they’re so easy, why not farm them?
Well, because their numbers aren’t as high as the Dragoon, nor are they as easy to make appear and their drop rate for Shards isn’t as great. Just leave these guys alone.
Using Dense Shards
You’re going to need a lot of Dense Shards for synthesis.
27 to make one of everything that requires them, but since they’re also a key component in making Mythril, you’ll need a lot more–roughly 100 of them in total.
This sounds tough, but you’ll get real good at fighting Dragoons and get constantly stronger. You’ll get it in no time.
