Best Farming Spot | Beast’s Castle |
The best way to get Serenity Stones is to farm Crimson Jazzes and Morning Stars in Beast’s Castle.
Take the route that starts at the West Wing and ends up in the Parlor. You’ll fight so many Crimson Jazz that it’s really only a matter of time until you get the amount of Stones you need.
Let’s take a closer look at running the farming route and how to tackle it optimally.
Beast’s Castle – Serenity Stone Route
Enter the castle from the Beast’s Room save point.
Then your next step is to head out into the West Wing (no, not that one).
In this hall you’ll fight a few Crimson Jazz, which is good.
But the real kings are in the next area so try to chop your way through ASAP.
This place has a lot of Crimson Jazz, as well as a few Morning Stars.
Take the first left at the bottom of the stairs to spawn a few extra enemies before going back heading towards the long hall that leads to the Entrance Hall.
This area can get kind of crowded, so make liberal use of Reflect and / or Drive Forms to get yourself through.
Focus on Crimson Jazzes first so you don’t get caught in a stupid storm of their explosive orbs.
Fifty percent of the time you’ll encounter a swarm of Crimson Jazz and Gargoyles–which is good.
The other fifty percent is a group of Nobody Dragoons, which is bad. If you encounter the latter, dash through to the Parlor so you can head to the world map and try the run again.
The run is simple and clean.
It’s the most consistent way to farm for your Serenity Stones.
They have a low drop rate, but you’ll be fighting so many Heartless that drop them that you’ll get them in no time anyway.
Now let’s talk about Crimson Jazz and Morning Stars and how to fight them.
Crimson Jazz and Morning Stars
Crimson Jazz can be deceptively tough.
Their main attack is to release fiery orbs that chase after and surround Sora. Then they explode!
If there’s more than two Jazz floating around then it’s super easy to suddenly be engulfed by a half-dozen orbs.
These orbs love to chase you, too.
They’ll stay on your tail for a lot longer than you’d think, so it is in your best interest to get rid of them ASAP.
Use Reflect to send them back to sender, or just get rid of the source. Thunder and Blizzard magic can KO the Jazz pretty quick, though the keyblade can do the job just as well.
Stay in the air and stay diligent.
Focus down the Jazzes as fast as possible. If you get overwhelmed it’s super easy to see the game over screen.
Morning Stars are a hearty bunch and can deal serious damage if left unchecked.
Attacking them from the air is preferable.
Try to stay behind them, too.
Thankfully, Morning Stars are fairly short-range, so if you keep your distance, you’ll be fine.
This is a positive, as they usually come paired with baddies like Crimson Jazz, who need to be much more attention paid to them.
Watch out for their Reaction Command. It has a nice AOE spread that can help clear out surrounding Crimson Jazzes (and other Stars).
Using Serenity Stones
You’ll need a total of 8 Serenity Stones to make everything that requires them via synthesis.
And they actually are a required item to get through all the synthesis lists in KH2.
Serenity Stones are an additional ingredient that you add after gathering the primary. Adding a Stone upgrades whatever recipe you apply it to, and doing so is the only way to obtain that particular item.
So all these recipes listed below require you to first craft the item before it, such as the Mega-Potion before the Mega-Ether.
