Grapes are a special ingredient only obtainable by completing the Grape Flan Challenge which is part of the Flantastic Seven side quest. But the Grape Flan can be found in a secret area. It’s not somewhere you’ll just run into, so you need to know where to look.

To reach the Grape Flan, enter from the Mountain Ridge save point.

Then from the save point, head northwest and jump off the cliff right next to the Moogle shop.

You will drop down into a large, empty snowfield with a giant bunch of grapes placed right in the middle.

Examine the grapes and a giant Flan wearing a grape hat will emerge from the ground.

The Grape Flan will Challenge you to a minigame where you must defeat as many flans as possible before the timer runs out.

Get at least 10,000 points to win a single bunch of Grapes. Get a high score of 20,000 or more to win three Grapes plus an ability.

Quick Tips

Blizzard is key: The goal of this challenge is to take out as many flans as possible within the time limit. However, these flans are tough to beat and whittling away their HP using just the physical attacks won’t do the trick.

Blizzard is your go to spell for this challenge.

The flans are especially susceptible to freezing. Just use your base Blizzard spell to freeze the flans, then attack with the keyblade to one-shot them.

This strategy is particularly useful during the first phase of the challenge.

Block to reflect projectiles: After a while, the flans will start throwing purple ice projectiles at you. Make sure you’ve got your Guard ability equipped beforehand and block the ice projectiles to reflect them back at the flans.

The reflected projectiles will freeze the flans momentarily. Grind on the purple rails to quickly reach the frozen flans and hit them once for an insta-kill.

Use Blizzaga on groups: Once you’re at the closing stages of the challenge, flans will start appearing in groups. Use the grind rails to close in on the distance between the flans.

Once you see a large group together, just start spamming Blizzaga to take them all out at once.

Note: Make sure to set your shortcut menu with all the necessary spells for quick access. Equip as many Ethers or Hi-Ethers as you can to keep the MP replenished during the round.
