Melons are a special ingredient you can only receive after completing the Honeydew Flan challenge. This is a part of the Flantastic Seven side-quest.
You can find the Honeydew Flan in the South district of The City.
Warp in from the South District Save point during the night and climb up the tall building behind you. From the top, look towards the north to spot a building with a tall red cellular tower. Climb the rooftop of this building, then jump over to the building next to the tower.
Here, you’ll find a large melon conspicuously placed on a crown of sorts nearby.
Examine the melon and the giant Honeydew Flan will pop out.
The Honeydew Flan will challenge you to a minigame where you will have to jump on as many flans as you can and get the top score.
Get at least 7,500 points to receive one Melon.
Get a high score of 15,000 or more to get three Melons (plus an ability on the first try).
Quick Tips
Time your Jumps: Once you start jumping, it will get increasingly difficult to land. The more you jump, the higher you’ll go. So practice your analog stick movement and learn to maneuver without tilting it too low.
The camera angle can be tricky to work with as well, so make sure to center and have the flans always in sight.
Don’t jump twice on a flan: When you jump on a flan, it will get agitated and start flailing its arms with its mouth wide open.
Avoid these flans until they’ve calmed down. It’s game over if they catch you.
Jump on sparkling flans: After a while, some of the flans will start sparkling. Jumping on these flans will bounce you to the next flan group and give a solid 1500 points to boot.
Keep changing flan groups: Once you hit around 9,000 points, Sora’s jumps will get super high and he will start freefalling down. It gets twice as hard to control Sora while he’s freefalling.
To avoid this, make sure to keep changing flan groups after 9000 points. Jump twice, then land on a sparkling flan to move to the next group. If you jump four times in the same group, Sora will start freefalling.
