You can obtain Onions from the vegetable baskets scattered around various areas of Thebes.

First, warp in from the Agora save point and head towards the northeast of the square.

Hit the vegetable basket in front of the produce vendor to randomly receive Onions.

Next, head up the northeastern stairs and turn right into the Big Olive area.

Make your way towards the eastern edge where you’ll find another vegetable basket in front of a stall that gives Onions randomly.

After that, warp to the Gardens save point and head northeast.

You will find a vegetable basket inside a building. Smack it and get more Onions.

Finally, warp to the Overlook save point and head down the stairs to reach an open area. Look for a vegetable basket under the northern wall to randomly get Onions.

Monstropolis

There’s a Chinese lunch box in the Second Floor area of The Factory that always contains Onions. Here’s how to get there:

Land at the Accessway save point and head west into the Second Floor.

Head down towards the southern end to find a lunch box on a lunch table. Hit it to obtain Onions on the first go.

Leave the world & warp back from the save point to refill the lunch box whenever you need more.

The Caribbean

You can find Onions in the vegetable crates and carts around the Settlement area of Port Royal.

Enter from the Settlement save point and turn left to find a vegetable cart nearby. Hit the cart to randomly receive Onions.

Then, go down south and look for a vegetable crate under a house that also contains Onions randomly.

Lastly, exit from the eastern side of town (left of the save point) and follow the path towards a bridge. There’s another vegetable cart here that randomly gives Onions.

You can leave and re-enter from any save point to reset the crates when you need more.

San Fransokyo

There’s a Chinese lunch box in the South District of The City that randomly contains Onions.

Warp in from the South District save point and head up north.

Reach the second building north of the save point to find a vegetable box placed on a bench nearby. Hit the box for a chance to get Onions.
