The synthesis system returns in Kingdom Hearts 3, offering a more streamlined version than previous iterations. Recipes get unlocked the more materials you collect, and by completing Collectors Goals and Photo Missions.
Most materials are dropped from enemies with the usual shard, stone, gem and crystal variations.
This list covers the entire synthesis material catalogue in the game, as well as Keyblade upgrade materials that are specifically used in the newly added Keyblade Forge section of the Moogle synthesis shop. Enemies that drop each material are listed along with environment drops and treasure chest locations (if any). The best farming locations for each material are also included, with Battlegate locations added for end game farming.
Note: Before you can buy any of these synthesis materials in the Moogle Shop, you’ll first need to collect a set amount of them into your inventory. You’ll specifically need:
- Shards – 30 total
- Stones – 25 total
- Gem – 20 total
Crystals can’t be bought; you can only synthesize them using recipes in the shop.
Note #2: None of the synthesis materials can be sold in the game.
