Betwixt Crystals are some of the rarest crystal materials in Kingdom Hearts 3. During the mid-game, they can only be farmed in Arendelle. The Ninja Nobodies found in the snowfield area of Arendelle drop them.

During the late-game, the best farming option is in Battlegate 9.

Note: Betwixt Crystals cannot be purchased or synthesized in the Moogle Shop, so you’ll just have to earn them through conventional farming methods.

Arendelle Farming Route

Warp in from the Foothills save point and head north into the Snowfield area.

You will find two enemy groups, including four Ninjas, at the northernmost tip of the area.

The Ninjas are humanoid Nobodies wearing dark grey full body suits, with their faces covered in grey hoods with the Nobody emblem marked on their foreheads. They have blades for hands and wear extra long pointy-edged shoes.

The Ninjas teleport around the battlefield, throwing knives from their hands and feet.

They can throw lightning at you, clone themselves to throw you off guard and have an unblockable spin-dash attack.

Ninjas are weak to water magic so make sure to add Wateraga to your shortcut menu.

Their speed requires you to master your dodges.

Target them with long-range magic and make full use of team attacks and attraction commands whenever they pop up.

They have a low 6% drop rate for Betwixt Crystals so you will need to make multiple runs through the area.

Other than a scripted story appearance, these four Ninjas in Arendelle are the only enemies that drop Betwixt Crystals during mid-game, so you’ll have to make do with what you’ve got.

After you clear the area just leave and re-enter from the Foothills save point to have them respawn.

Battlegate 9

During the end-game, Battlegate 9 makes it much easier to farm Betwixt crystals.

To unlock Battlegates, you need to complete the main story and reload your last save after defeating the final boss.

Battlegate 9 is located in Arendelle in The Labyrinth of Ice. Land at the Gorge save point and you will spot the large glowing orb that teleports you into the labyrinth.

When inside, use flowmotion around the twisted icicle behind you to head down into the Middle Tier area.

Here, check the minimap and keep moving forward up the stairs.

Break the ice walls that block your path but only pass through the ones that have stairs taking you upwards.

At the top, you will reach the chamber with the round crystal entrance to Battlegate 9.

Note: Inside the battlegate, focus on Ninjas for farming Betwixt Crystals. You will also encounter the Berserker Nobody inside, which has a whopping 73% drop rate for Betwixt Crystals. However, it’s not really a farming option, as it only appears once in this Battlegate as a single miniboss and takes absurdly long to beat due to its high HP.

Using Betwixt Crystals

Betwixt Crystals are required for four recipes, and you must have at least 4 crystals in total to synthesize at least one copy of each recipe.
