Best Farming Spot |
|
Blazing Shards can be farmed fairly early on in the game. You can find a number of enemies called Flame Cores that drop them at the very beginning of the Olympus world in the Thebes area called the Overlook.
Note: If you’re looking to unlock Blazing Shards for purchase in the Moogle Shop, you need to collect 30 of them as drops first.
Olympus Farming Route
Enter the world from the Overlook save point.

Turn around and head north east following down the stairs.

At the end, you’ll enter an open area where you’ll immediately encounter a number of enemies, including the Flame Cores.
You can spot these guys by their flaming heads; up close, they look like giant urns with burning horns.

You can wipe them out fairly easily using your best water and blizzard spells.
With a 15% chance of dropping Blazing Shards, you can amass a considerable amount in just a few cycles of the area.

Just warp in and out of the Overlook save point to respawn the enemies and rinse and repeat as needed.
Battlegate 1
For end-game farming, Battlegates are your best bet for Blazing Shards.
These gates are enemy gauntlets that appear in every world after you complete the main story. For farming Blazing Shards, you need to look for Battlegate 1, which is also situated in Olympus.
Just enter the world from the Summit save point in the Mount Olympus area.

Upon arriving, head straight up the giant staircase and enter the bright and shining gate into The Realm Of The Gods.

Run straight ahead and you’ll come across the blue round crystal, which is the entrance to Battlegate 1.
