Evanescent Crystals

Evanescent Crystals are a unique synthesis material that you can only obtain after finishing the main storyline.

You can receive one Evanescent Crystal as a reward for clearing Battlegate 3 located in Twilight Town, and another after clearing Battlegate 9 in Arendelle. Since you only need two of these crystals for synthesis recipes, you don’t have to farm any more of them.

However, they are still dropped by the Berserker Nobody that exclusively appears in Battlegate 9.

Battlegate 3

You can obtain an Evanescent Crystal from clearing Battlegate 3 in Twilight Town for the first time.

You can access Battlegates in every world after clearing the main storyline and reloading the final save.

To reach Battlegate 3, first warp in from The Old Mansion save point.

Just head outside the iron gates into the clearing and you will find the blue crystal orb, which is the entrance to Battlegate 3.

This battlegate consists of three waves of Nobodies.

The first and second waves consist of Dusks and Snipers.

In the third wave, you will have to face a Sorcerer Nobody along with some dusks.

The Sorcerer retains its look from Kingdom Hearts 2, wearing long robes of silver and grey.

Slowly but surely, it will go down.

You will receive an Evanescent Crystal along with the Secret Report 3 as a reward for clearing the battlegate.

Battlegate 9

Battlegate 9 can be found inside The Labyrinth of Ice in Arendelle. You will receive an Evanescent Crystal as a reward for clearing it the first time.

Here’s how to get there:

Enter from the Gorge save point and examine the large glowing orb to enter The Labyrinth of Ice.

When you arrive, just turn on the spot and use Flowmotion on the crystal pillar to take it down to the Middle Tier.

From here, just keep going up the stairs without taking any detours on the sides.

At the end, you’ll reach the chamber with the blue crystal entrance to Battlegate 9.

This battlegate will have you facing almost all the Nobody types found in the game.

Pack as many Ethers and Hi-Ethers as you can before entering the battlegate.

After clearing the battlegate, you will receive the Evanescent Crystal along with the Secret Report 9 as a reward.

Using Evanescent Crystals

Evanescent Crystals are required for two recipes, and you must have at least 2 crystals in total to synthesize at least one copy of each recipe.

Note: While only two Evanescent Crystals are required to synthesize both recipes, you may want multiple copies of the Nobody Guard+ for different characters. In this case, you can always go back to Battlegate 9 and farm the Berserker, which drops Evanescent Crystals at a 9% rate.
