Illusory Crystals

Illusory Crystals are obtained from battlegates after finishing the main storyline of KH3. You can obtain one Illusory Crystal as a reward for clearing Battlegate 6 in the Kingdom of Corona, and then another crystal after clearing Battlegate 8 in Monstropolis for the first time.

Since only two Illusory Crystals are required for synthesis, you don’t really need to farm any more. However, the Demon Tower that appears in Battlegate 8 also drops these crystals in case you want more than two.

Battlegate 6

You can obtain an Illusory crystal by clearing Battlegate 6, found in the Kingdom of Corona.

To reach Battlegate 6, first warp in from the Wildflower Clearing save point and head west into the Wetlands.

Once you reach the canyons, turn right and drop down into the valley.

The blue crystal entrance to Battlegate 6 is situated right in the middle of the valley.

Inside the battlegate, you will face two Chaos Carriages along with a group of Powerwilds.

The Chaos Carriages appear in the horse form and tower form each.

You won’t have to worry about the tower form first, as it remains stationary until you defeat the horse form.

The regular chaos carriage looks like half a horse fused with a carriage with a turret on top.

After clearing the battlegate, you will receive an Illusory Crystal and the Secret Report 6 as a reward.

Battlegate 8

You can also receive an Illusory Crystal by clearing Battlegate 8, found in Monstropolis.

To reach Battlegate 8, enter from the Tank Yard save point and head south.

Grind the rails over the large pipe to your left to reach the inside of a large tank.

You will find the blue crystal entrance to Battlegate 8 within.

Inside you will find the Demon Tower along with four Flame Cores.

The Demon Tower is basically dozens of Shadows merged together into a tower form.

You will receive an Illusory Crystal as well as the Secret Report 8 after clearing the battlegate.

Using Illusory Crystals

Illusory Crystals are required for two recipes, and you must have at least 2 crystals in total to synthesize at least one copy of each recipe.

Note: While only two Illusory Crystals are required to synthesize both recipes, you can get more in case you want to synthesize the Heartless Maul+ more than once. In this case, you can go back to Battlegate 8 and farm the Demon Tower, which drops Illusory Crystals 10% of the time.
