Pulsing shards are one of the most easily farmable materials in the game.

They can be farmed from the Powerwild Heartless, which are found in huge numbers on Isla Verdemontaña in The Caribbean world.

Note: You need to collect 30 Pulsing Shards as drops from enemies before they unlock for purchase in the Moogle Shop.

The Caribbean Farming Route

To reach Isla Verdemontaña, you need to have access to your ship.

Just warp in from any save point and get on board your ship.

Open the sea chart and fast travel to Isla Verdemontaña, the island at the northwestern corner of the map.

Disembark and head into the forest.

Immediately, you’ll be attacked by Powerwilds.

Returning from previous games, these monkey-like Heartless attack with a similar moveset and are more of a nuisance than a threat.

Dodge their scratch attacks and block and repel the nuts they throw at you; otherwise, you’ll get stunned. Just hit back with your combos to finish them off.

Run a full circle around the island and wipe out every group that comes your way.

With their 12% drop rate for Pulsing Shards, you can gather a very good haul of shards at the end of a couple of runs.

To make them respawn, just fast travel back to the island from your ship.

Battlegate 2

If you want to farm Pulsing Shards during the end-game, head to Battlegate 2, located in the Olympus world.

Battlegates will appear in every world after you’ve completed the main story. These make it much easier to farm certain enemies faster and more reliably.

For Battlegate 2, enter Olympus from the Apex save point.

Then turn around and head past Zeus into the large golden gates.

Note: You will face two Rock Trolls accompanied by a group of Soldiers which drop Pulsing Shards in the Battlegate.

The Soldiers will keep respawning endlessly as long as the Rock Trolls remain standing.

So focus on eliminating Soldier waves while keeping both Rock Trolls alive. If you can keep at it, you can max out your Pulsing Shard collection just from this single location.
