Sinister Crystals

Best Farming Spot
  • Monstropolis – The Power Plant/Tank Yard

Like all other Sinister materials in KH3, you can only farm Sinister Crystals in the Monstropolis world. These crystals are dropped by the Spiked Turtletoads, the toughest non-boss enemies in this world.

The only way to obtain Sinister Crystals is by regular farming methods. They cannot be bought or synthesized at the Moogle Shop.

Note: None of the Sinister materials can be farmed from the Battlegates that appear during end-game.

Monstropolis Farming Route

Warp in from the Tank Yard save point and head back towards the southwest area on the map.

Soon you will come across the Spiked Turtletoad.

This Unversed is just a larger version of the regular Turtletoads.

Its body is blue colored and the shell is purple with prominent black and red spikes growing out of it. And just like regular Turtletoads, it also has whiskers on either side of its face.

The Spiked Turtletoad employs the same attacks as the regular Turtletoad, such as the spinning attack or the squash attack.

However, it also has a new unblockable attack where it can eat the entire party and spit out to do massive damage.

It always appears with a group of smaller enemies, such as the Flowersnakes.

It can also eat the Flowersnakes to merge with them. In this form, the Flowersnakes will spew poison at you while the Spiked Turtletoad spins around.

The Spiked Turtletoad has a massive HP stat, so you will have your work cut out for you.

But it can’t be hit from the back since its shell is impervious to physical attacks. That said, it is also weak to blizzard magic, so use that to your advantage.

Dodge as much as you can and use Blizzagas from afar to deal the most damage.

The Spiked Turtletoad can drop Sinister Crystals at a brilliant 20% rate, so acquiring them won’t be too much of an issue.

However, it only appears as a single enemy in any group when it spawns. And when coupled with its extra-large HP, the farm can get rather tedious.

So you may have to dedicate at least an hour solely to farming these toads for crystal drops.
