Best Farming Spot |
|
The best spot for farming Soothing Shards is in the Toybox world. These shards are dropped by the Toy Trooper Heartless that spawn in a variety of places all over the world.
Soothing Shards can also be unlocked for purchase at the Moogle Shop after you collect 30 of them as drops from the field.
Toybox Farming Route
Enter from the Main Floor: 1F save point and proceed into the toy store.

As soon as you reach the central open area, a large wave of Toy Troopers will appear along with a few Gigas mechs.
The Toy Troopers wear black and blue jumpsuits with large goggled helmets.
They wield white toy guns and have jetpacks on their backs, which they use to zoom around.

Toy Troopers have a basic kick attack where they propel towards you using their jetpacks. They shoot triple projectiles from their guns and can also throw toy grenades at you.

These attacks aren’t much of a threat, and you can easily take them on with your basic combos.
Tip: They are weak to blizzard magic, so use Blizzaga to take them out in groups.

The Toy Troopers drop Soothing Shards at a decent 12% rate, and since they always appear in large groups, you can easily gather a large number of shards from them in a single run.

But if you need to hit the world a few times for more drops, just leave the world and re-enter from the 1F save point to have them respawn.
Note: The Toy Troopers can take control of the Gigas robots lying around the area. However, you can also pilot any Gigas after defeating it.

Battlegate 5
The best place to get Soothing Shards in the post-game is from Battlegate 5, also located in Toybox.
Battlegates are enemy gauntlets that appear after the main storyline is completed.
You can challenge enemy hordes at these battlegates for farming materials and earning various rewards.
Warp in from the Main Floor: 1F save point and head back towards the entrance of Galaxy Toys.

The blue crystal entrance leading to Battlegate 5 will be right next to the entrance of the toy store, between a couple of giant toy statues (pictured below).
