Wellsprings Shards are dropped by over a dozen different enemies in the game. With so many choices available, it’s best to go for the enemies you find the easiest or fastest to farm.
The best spots for farming Wellspring Shards are in Toy Box and Arendelle. The Large Bodies found in Toy Box and the Parasol Beauties in Arendelle drop Wellspring Shards with a respectable drop rate.
Note: You cannot buy or synthesize Wellspring Shards at the Moogle Shop in KH3. They are only obtained through regular farming methods.
Toy Box Farming Route
Land at the Andy’s House save point and head outside through the window.
Jump down from the rooftop into Andy’s front yard, where a group of Heartless will appear, including the Large Bodies.
The Large Bodies return in KH3 with their classic look.
They are large, round, have massive arms and a tiny head. They wear large, curled shoes and have chained manacles on both arms.
As ever, the Large Bodies are impervious to physical attacks from the front but they can be hit from the back.
At low health, they go berserk and start rushing at you non-stop.
While physical attacks don’t do much against them, you can easily take them down with magic. Just use Blizzaga or Firaga to clear them out quickly.
With a decent 12% drop rate for Wellspring Shards, you can get a good haul from them after a few runs.
After clearing out the group, just head west towards Galaxy Toys and return back in to respawn all the enemies.
Arendelle Farming Route
You can also obtain Wellspring Shards from the Parasol Beauties found in Arendelle.
Land at the Gorge save point and examine the large blue orb to enter The Labyrinth of Ice.
You will arrive at the Upper Tier, where you need to head north-east into a hexagonal-shaped room. Inside, a large group of Parasol Beauties are lying in wait for you.
These are your Heartless version of Mary Poppins. They are wearing purple crinoline frocks along with large white hats. They also carry a pink umbrella dangling from their wrists.
The Parasol Beauties use their umbrellas to attack from a distance.
They can fire rapid projectiles or lasers from their umbrellas.
They also use a spin attack to dash at you.
The projectiles can be blocked, while the lasers must be evaded. Since they always appear at the far corners of the battlefield, it’s best to retaliate using your own long-range magic.
They are weak to fire, so use Firagas to take them out efficiently.
The Parasol Beauties drop Wellspring Shards 12% of the time.
The hexagon room in the labyrinth spawns up to 11 Parasol Beauties, and you can gather a good number of shards from them each run.
To make them respawn, return to the central room and warp out and back in from the blue orb.
Battlegate 5
During the end-game, Wellspring Shards can be farmed at Battlegate 5, located in the Toy Box world.
To get to Battlegate 5, warp in from the Main Floor: 1F save point and back towards the entrance of Galaxy Toys.
The blue crystal entrance to Battlegate 5 is located right next to the front doors, between a couple of giant robot statues.
Using Wellspring Shards
Wellspring Shards are required for seventeen recipes, and you must have at least 91 shards in total to synthesize at least one of each recipe.
