Writhing Stones

Writhing Stones are dropped by the Neoshadow Heartless with the highest drop rate. They spawn in San Fransokyo around the South District area during the night.

You can unlock Writhing Stones for purchase only after collecting 25 of them from drops in the field.

San Fransokyo Farming Route

Land at the South District: Night save point and start making rounds around the area.

Neoshadows appear under tall buildings and near roadside walkways and bridges.

Neoshadows make their return in Kingdom Hearts 3 sporting their usual creepy look, taking on a more humanoid form compared to regular Shadows.

The Neoshadows’ moveset remains unchanged from the previous games.

They scratch, lunge and dash, often sending Sora into the air. Counter their close-range attacks by dodging and blocking, and use Aerial Recovery if knocked into the air.

Use water spells if they go underground and take out whole groups at a time with your best area of effect spells.

Neoshadows drop Writhing Stones 8% of the time. You will encounter multiple groups throughout the South District and you should leverage their large numbers to earn a decent amount of Writhing Stones from the area.

Warp back from the closest save point to respawn all enemies within the area.

Battlegate 0

You can farm Writhing Stones when you reach end-game from Battlegate 0, located in the Keybade Graveyard.

Unlike the rest of the battlegates, which appear after you’ve finished the main story, Battlegate 0 will appear during the Keyblade Graveyard story section.

You can access Battlegate 0 from different areas in the Keyblade Graveyard. These areas include the save points at the Trail of Valediction, Twist of Isolation, and Tower of Endings.

Conveniently, the preview thumbnails of the areas on the warp menu display the blue crystal entrance to Battlegate 0 as well.

Using Writhing Stones

Writhing Stones are required for ten recipes, and you must have at least 38 stones in total to synthesize at least one of each recipe.
